It's a fact of life that children who are supposed to be using a computer for their homework will at times be tempted to use it for other purposes: chatting to friends on-line, downloading music, surfing the web – all activities that divert them from productive study. Learn Then Play’s patented software guarantees a safe environment where homework can be undertaken without distractions and under parental control.
Flexible and easy to use
Parents can set Learn Then Play so that all or some of the computer's functions are locked down. In addition Learn Then Play enables the parent to pre-set the study period; access to the internet is also pre-determined by the age of the child/student – the older they are, the greater the freedom they may have.
If the homework assignment requires access to certain areas of the internet, the parent can set Learn Then Play to allow these sites into the learning session. Once the time period is over, or the assignment – for example, a test – has been successfully completed, the computer will return to normal working. The Learn Then Play program is easy to download from the web, or can be installed using a CD Rom.
Monitor work and social activities
Should the child/student persistently try to operate the computer outside the pre-set parameters of the study session, it will automatically shut down. The computer can only be re-started with the parental access code. Learn Then Play is so smart and intuitive that it can tell when work is being undertaken by monitoring keystrokes and mouse movements. If the assigned work is not completed during the pre-set homework time the computer will not return to normal working even after the study period has elapsed!
Once installed Learn Then Play constantly monitors and filters all email and web traffic during both study periods and in normal use. The program can be set to alert the parent of any attempted unsuitable activity and will block traffic identified as undesirable. Learn Then Play protects children 24/7.
